Not according to my definitions.

As I said, I think the sex change operation is totally ridiculous. If people must do it let them, but I consider it ridiculous.

I don't know why I bother, but...

Are you referring to gender reassignment surgery? Or all medical treatments for transgender persons, including hormone therapy?

I'm referring to any transgender treatment where the treatment is too expensive to be funded entirely by someone in the lowest 10th wealth bracket of the EU/NATO area.

As I said, let them do it, but don't ask me to have any respect for the act.

Oh, like cancer treatment? Or physical therapy after severely debilitating injury?

No, I meant transgender treatment, and I'm very very very surprised that you didn't realise that. I later corrected it.

Why are you so intolerant, Nick? You are talking like a Russian conservative

Well, no. Russian conservatives would not say "if people must do it, let them". Possibly, they may say, let them, but in a different country, not here.

Frankly, transgenders or what you want to call them, face even far more and worse violence and brutality here, than gays: http://antonschteinberg.blogspot.ca/...in-moscow.html

I know one such brave person: http://www.themoscowtimes.com/news/a...st/486021.html

Or, my wife knows her... him... I am not sure. They have been at protests and such together, comrades in activism, long time. To be honest, I do not talk to him/her. Not comfortable with it. I guess I can understand that he wanted to become a woman, I suppose he should be able to. In theory, I have no problem with it. In practice, however, I cannot understand it, nor want to. My Orthodox faith, my whole worldview is against it. I told Karina he/she is your friend, that is fine, but, keep that out of our home, away from our children.

I guess I am intolerant too

Transgender people face pretty specific violence here as well. And frankly it's attitudes like Nick's that make it possible.
