I have three favorite Led Zeppelin songs and a hard time choosing among them. Kashmir is one, with Going to California and Tangerine (with an obscure instrumental called Black Mountainside ranking close behind)

Interestingly, I really like their sound and the hard rocks stuff in general. I think it's more coincidence than anything that my favorites are more acoustic-y songs.

There was a time when I could play pretty much any Zeppelin song on guitar and do a good job of it (sigh). I think I can still get through Stairway, Tangerine, and Over the Hills and Far Away, but the rest of them have slipped through the cracks and would require some practice.

I got that from the library once... damn. I had forgotten all about it. They must have been fucking insane to see live.

White Summer/Black Mountainside is fantastic. If a guitar could tell a tale...

Iris Dement - I Miss A Lot Of Trains

It's an old Tom T. Hall song, but damn this is a good version.

I was just listening to Wilco for the first time in ages.
Then, I opened Google news.
That's when I discovered that Jay Bennet from Wilco died this past weekend. Ironic.
Anyway, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is a wonderful album and I highly recommend it.
