Oh, I agree. I hate the tendency to pick things out of complete symphonies or concerto's. Many people think that Ode an die Freude IS the 9th just as many people think Oh Fortuna IS the Carmina Burana.

Son Volt - Tear Stained Eye

Just started listening to these a couple months ago. I'm a big fan.

Note to barbarians : That's Beethoven's Ninth

If I understand correctly, you are the only non-Barbarian here...

Stairway To Heaven.

"It is the most requestedsong on FM radio stations in the United States, despite never having been released as a single there."

When I think of Zeppelin all that comes to mind is Windowpane Windowpane
Windowpane Windowpane Windowpane Windowpane Windowpane
Windowpane Windowpane...

It's one of those songs I respect in that it really is moving but I've heard it so many times in my life it does not have the impact it once did.

Agreed, my appreciation is based more on fond memories of events enjoyed with the music when it was contemporary.

One of my top two favorite Zep songs is on Zep III immediately before Stairway (Battle for Evermore) so I tend to hear Stairway all too often.

Kashmir would of course be my other fav...

I go through phases of which songs I prefer. Right now, I'm on a "In My Time of Dying" and "What Is and What Should Never Be" kick with some "Trampled Under Foot" thrown in for good measure.

I listen to their songs until I crave another group of their songs. When I go through them all, I watch "How the West Was Won" and get excited all over again. As I've said, Zeppelin is like sex: It's always good, but mixing it up adds some excitement.

I love the album version of "How the West Was Won". It's focused on my favorite period of their work although I wish it had some stuff from Physical Graffiti. I can't believe they didn't release it earlier.
