Sounds like a lovely vacation. I'm sure your wife and kids will love it.

Nice boat. The retro style has much better succeeded in this one than in the other one earlier in the thread IMO. Is it correct that it's a Soviet era commissioned ship ?

Those VIP quarters area very swank but I shuddered to think how many of those ships' models and statues would end up broken by my three-year-old. I don't know what your kids are like because they're a little older but mine would make a mess of something in those rooms and it would not result in a nice time for anyone

We just returned. It was a very nice cruise. Volga really is beautiful in this time of the year. Will post pictures later. We did take the VIP quarters, despite Karina's initial protests, which stopped once she saw exactly how luxurious it was And, Greendruid, you were right. Our oldest did break something, a very expensive bottle of champagne. Knocked it off the table. No matter, I bought another. Anything for my family

Glad you enjoyed yourself and glad you're back. Funny how I now see the world that my son might be interacting with through a lens of what might be broken during that interaction

Technically, if that bottle of "champagne" wasn't imported from the Champagne district of France, it is illegal to call it champagne. It is just sparkling wine.

If you were unable to pay for the broken item though, I'm betting you wouldn't say that to the owner of the item! Or maybe Russia is different. Do you think such a statement would get you out of trouble if you were in that situation where one of your kids broke something in a store, let's say, where you couldn't afford the broken item? Sorry, that was totally

When they recognize that the Armenians invented cognac, I will recognize that they invented champagne

You are right. That is why many poorer families here do not dare at all to go into upscale shops with their children.

Anyway, some photos from the cruise, Volga views
