Very true

Doesn't mean they aren't committing war crimes though.

That depends upon how you define the issue.

It is certainly true in that war is a crime against humanity, but not true in that in war, there actually are no rules (so how does one break rules that don't exist?)

"War Crimes" is an arbitrary label applied by winners after the fact, in order to punish losers. The concept has no legal definition. But there is no doubt about it, all modern wars of the last 150 years have involved bombing hospitals, murdering prisoners, slaughtering civilians, rape, pillage, etc, by all sides, no exceptions. That's just how the game is played.

The armed combatants in Aleppo were given many opportunities to leave, through corridors provided by our military. Each time they rejected this, AND forced civilians to remain with them, as hostages and human shields. They turned hospitals and schools into munition warehouses and operating bases, which is why they were bombed.

And, I am sorry, our military is not like tbe West. They were only going to offer so many "humanitarian pauses", before giving up on that and finishing off the enemy for good.

Please don't insult my intelligence by asking me to think that there is justification for the behavior of any of the armed parties in Syria.

Edit to add: I'm fully aware that most of what I see and read about Syria is filtered propaganda, but I absolutely guarantee that everything that you are seeing and reading is equally, if not moreso, bullshit.

Sure it has. It's in the Geneva Conventions which most countries have ratified which makes it international law. That these same countries pretty much ignore it if inconvenient doesn't change that it is law.

The law only applies to the losing side.
