Yes, that's definitely true. That's why I'm surprised it hasn't become more common in the wider US culture.

We have been disconnected from our wars.

Form the concept of war altogether I would say. It's the same in Europe. The support for Golden Dawn or any equivalent extreme right party amongst people who have actually lived under Nazi occupation can be counted on the fingers of a man with both arms amputated. People really learn nothing from history.

Money talks. Now Germany has arrested an Egyptian journalist on behalf of the bloody Egyptian military dictatorship, and so far Reuters, my current favorite news source, hasn't seemed to cover this.

When will Israel, the Mid-East's nuclear and military superpower, help to liberate the Egyptians?

I would be somewhat surprised if the average Egyptian would ever greet the Israelis as liberators.

Perhaps not, and it's doubtful that the Iranians would greet the Israelis as liberators, either, but the Likudniks claim to want to liberate Iran, which unlike US allies Egypt and Saudi Arabia, already has a parliament and a quasi-democracy.
