Interesting. Give me an example.

You misread me. I didn't say it was because of one that I dislike the other. I clearly stated that I dislike BOTH.

Not the same thing, as I've just pointed out. Oh, and I agree with you on that point.

I cannot agree with that. Take, for example, the American film "Fatal Attraction" (or whatever it was called). It is probably a couple of hours long but the only thing it is liked for is the half-second beaver shot by whats-her-name.

Wenders is renowned for his "potty" shots and the rest of his films are tolerated because of that. His film-making excellence is as meaningful to the cinema as Leonard Cohen's voice is to music.

This is a good analysis of the whole thing:

Try:
Paris, Texas
Wings of Desire
Buena Vista Social Club
Die Gebrüder Skladanowsky
The Blues
Im Lauf der Zeit
and others

I'm confused about the beaver shot. That's not in Fatal Attraction is it ? Isn't it in Basic Instinct ? Neither are Wenders movies anyways. Basic Instinct is Paul Verhoeven.

"Why is it a fake?" Delcourt asked.
"The answer: 'Dali has not been paid.'

Jesus! I knew nothing of all of that. But I wonder .... was Dali autistic? In interviews he seems to be absent. It would explain a lot and even let him off the hook.

And it is your opinion those are good films?

Keep your finger on the page as you read. You won't get lost so easily.

I have no idea.

Yep, though BVSC and The Blues episode are documentaries rather than movies.

It was you who misattributed the beaver shot to Wenders.

I don't like any of his films that I've seen.

I never said that. You're having difficulties holding on to the development of this thread I see. Relevant examples can be taken from any source, if the lesson is the same.

Shitting on the beach ...... beaver shot.

Are we clear now?

Thumbs down Re: Eyesore of the Month

Another eyesore from Malmö.

A fountain with 3 figures.

A closer look. Ignore the pipe thing that is attached to the photo from google, which has nothing to do with the fountain.

Water shooting from their mouths, ears and eyes, while kneeling on spheres. And the significance? Uhhhhhhhhhh .......... no one seems to know.

New official harbour building in Antwerp. What were they thinking. It's supposed to be both a sail and a diamond.

Ooof.

Really, I think the whole "diamond sail" construct would be fine...were it not so tragically straddling that other building of a completely different style.
