Default Should there be a sequel to contact

This is one of my all time favorite movies. Should there be a sequel? I think there is more to tell.

That's an excellent science fiction movie, probably the best since the monuments of the 1970's (such as the original Russian Solaris). I don't know about a sequel though. What would you want it to be about ?

I don't think Contact was that kind of story. To me, the major argument of Contact was that the distance is simply too far for "alien visits". Its been a while since I watched it, but I believe the climax took place in a type of communication dimension they created because travel is so impractical.

No man you got it wrong. Ellie did travel to see the aliens, it was not a communication dimension, but a wormhole that took here there. The aliens however did not reveal their true forms and disguised themselves as her father.

From what I remember both interpretations were possible.

What I especially liked about Contact was the wormhole device. If not realistic, at least it was plausible. The movie must have had a serious scientific advisor contrary to most other SF movies.

No they aren't Ellie makes it clear that she travelled through a wormhole. This is why she experienced 18 hours while the rest experienced a nano second.

It's possible. It may be a decade since I saw it last.
