You just know that the CIA will pull every monkey wrench, carrot, and stick it has out of it's ass to prevent a thaw in North and South Korea relations.

The 'frozen' relationship is specifically and directly between N.Korea and USA resulting from the US invasion of N.Korea under MacArthur. The two nations are still technically or theoretically still at war. The USA does not need any help from S.Korea to maintain this status quo. N.Korea has long been asking to meet with US officials to resolve the issue. USA consistently and constantly has refused for about a half-century now.

In other words, US policy on N.Korea has nothing to do with the CIA. It is a long standing US Administration policy, US foreign policy and US military policy.

Read this article from Wikipedia defining State within a State, or Deep State, and ask yourself whether the US Congress controls foreign policy, or whether the Central Intelligence Agency controls it though its control of its 16 subordinate intelligence agencies, the apparatchiki in the Pentagon, State Dept., Treasury Dept., MIC, and the Associated Press which runs press releases from these sources as news.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_within_a_state

Doesn't this help explain why US foreign policy is essentially the same year after year no matter whether Democrats or Republicans control Congress and/or the White House?

So, imho, US foreign policy has everything to do with the CIA.

Saber-rattling? Gunboat diplomacy? SSDD?

Or something worse?

Just three more days until the summit in Singapore:

It's inconceivable that the deep state/MIC, so heavily invested in joint military operations with South Korea and a blockade of North Korea, will allow the possibility of South Korea falling out of US control.

And since desperate times call for desperate measures, it will not be surprising if some tragic accident befalls President Moon or possibly Kim or Trump in the next few days, or if Trump flat-out changes his mind again or can't attend due to a crisis with Melania or something.

Peaceniks wait with bated breath.

The deal that Trump and Kim signed isn't the end-all and be-all, but it sure is better than this peacenik expected.
https://news.antiwar.com/2018/06/11/...gapore-summit/

Now, Kim and Moon can reach their own accord, allowing trade between the two countries and ignoring the US embargo and sanctions on North Korea which the US Congress is unlikely to suspend, without fear of repercussions, (unless the CIA murders them both).

We might even see the continuation of the Seoul to Moscow railway project that the US has blocked.

What deal? There is no content to the 'deal'. NKorea agreed to absolutely nothing.

The only 'deal' is pure Trump bullshit. Sadly, the media tends to take Trump's word's seriously despite being a pathological liar.
