With all due respect, I've been hearing about the 'demise' of the petro-dollar since the early 1980's. That's almost 40 years of the same thing being said (and not actually happening).

I'm beginning to think this is a meme that's right up there with supply side economics.

There is obviously a market for these stories otherwise they wouldn't be repeated over and over again for so many decades.
