Default Conservative versus Liberal

Stacy Herbert and her husband Max Keiser write for Russia Today, are socialist with regard to government programs, and regard Trump as an ignoramus, but are also strongly anti-war and pro-gold, just as libertarian Lew Rockwell is.

What gives here?

Um, perhaps that Conservative vs. Liberal has never been a remotely accurate or insightful way to discuss actual political perspectives?

Indeed. Political party affiliation tends to have all the depth and passion as sports team fandom. And it seems to be getting worse. Political labels are so mangled, misused and maligned that they seem almost useless. In the hands of the idiotic mass media, such terms become objects of comedy and mystery.

I can't tell you how many times I've heard so-called 'conservatives' rant favoring socialist policies (but never use that term) or 'so-called' liberals extolling socialism, or 'so-called' socialists talking about markets.

The ignorance is just too much to deal with so i just ignore those types of people - they are beyond hope (and seem to be in the majority). Kind of reminds me of all those Trump voters who are shocked to find they might loose their healthcare insurance subsidies or their illegal immigrant husband might get deported. The ignorance is strong out there (and people seem to be proud of such ignorance).
