Default Re: Slavic Paganism

Russia is in a period of painful socio-cultural-political-economic transition. In such situations, people tend to turn to religion for some psychological stablility. And in our modern contemporary world, "new-age" paganism seems to be more popular with 'religious newbies' than the established book-religions. Also, paganism seems to be much better attuned to the ideas of ecology and environmentalism which are big concerns for people these days (and mainstream religion is shit on these issues).

Paganism is growing steadily in western countries as well.
