The way things are going, with our rapacious and undaunted passion for endless consumption, I'm thinking that 'cars' of the future are going to end up looking like a horse & buggy.

With alcohol locks in effect, automatic speed limit imposition right around the corner, full journey tracking in effect, etc. it's clear that the future of the car as an individual free means of transportation is... not going to be.

If the electric car does not come back then an individual free means of transportation ought to die.

No, none of those would do. Not if you believe the sort of future predictions our Russian fantastic writers constantly bombard us with

Those who survive the Apocalypse, will almost entirely be descendants of Putin, who will look like him, and hunt tigers and leopards shirtless with bow and arrow

A new race will be born: Hetero Putinus (because descendants of Putin would kill anyone who would dare call any of them a Homo)

As for future cars, rural Russia, which is already living in a post-apocalyptic type existence, already has them
When an Apocalypse comes, nothing much will change for those people, actually lol

Nothing can beat KAMAZ

They won Rally Dakar several times

Then, there is the good old UAZ-469

GAZ-39371 "Vodnik", amphibious

Civilian version:

Tread-based vehicles Ukhtysh

and "Uzola"

manufactured at the "Off-road Vehicle Factory" in Nizhny Novgorod.

GAZ Tigr

and Rys

KAMAZ Typhoon is my favorite by far though, that is a fucking beast
