Default Copa America

Was surprised to see Nick hadn't made a Copa America Centennial thread yet.

Anyway, it is well under way, with a few times already securing an advancement, and a few teams already eliminated (including Uruguay last night! Wow!).

This year is the first time it is held outside of the Southern continent, as it is being held here in the US. It's also an out-of-order year in order to coincide with the centennial (rhythm got screwed up a few times due to wars and such).

Who will the World's oldest major soccer tournament? Per usual I'm rooting for Colombia, and so far they've been doing pretty all right!

How's Brazil and Argentina looking? They are the traditional powerhouse teams.

Brazil have one win and one tie (against Ecuador...), Argentina has one win (they've only played one), but should notch another against Panama tonight.

Woooow. I didn't watch the game (was seeing my favorite band play), but Messi flubbed a penalty?

Wow.

Looks like Messi will go down as the coulda-shoulda-woulda greatest player of all time.
