Forgot to include also impossible for me to rationalize Midwest humidity. Should have stated any state with high summer humidity.

What is there to rationalize?

Yeah, I assumed it was part of the South. But apparently I was wrong.

Still, I am stubborn and maintain it is part of the South. It's hot and dirty, how could it not be? Almost like a South South Carolina.

A few years based in Atlanta with business travel in AL, FL, NC and TN. Grew up in Texas but escaped early enough to make no humidity an eventual lifestyle goal.

Arkansas is definitely south of Kentucky and Ohio Coming from the "far" west well...
Arkansas wasn't part of the old 'antebellum South', so Southerners don't include it. But its geographic location is very southern, so most non-Southerners seem to include it as "southern".

Did you make it up to Flagstaff while you were there? I always thought that was a really fun town.

IMHO, it's one of those 'tweener states. Parts of it are kinda Southern, parts of it are definitely Midwest (like Iowa, Ohio, and the rest of the flatland endless rows of corn states).

No, we headed the other direction.

Should have gone up to Jerome to visit Maynard's tasting room though. Next trip.

Now, of course, I've got the usual "I visited the in-laws" cold.

Ah, so you got the desert in full force. I like southern Arizona as well. The desert is such an alien landscape that it's interesting to me to spend a week or two in it. I don't know if I'd enjoy it on a permanent basis. One thing that's so appealing to me about Arizona is that you have so many different climates and landscapes within a few hours of driving in any direction.

Sucks about the cold, though. There's nothing like coming home from a trip, getting back to the grind, and being sick on top of it.
