Revealed: The ghost fleet of the recession anchored just east of Singapore
The biggest and most secretive gathering of ships in maritime history lies at anchor east of Singapore. Never before photographed, it is bigger than the U.S. and British navies combined but has no crew, no cargo and no destination - and is why your Christmas stocking may be on the light side this year

Wow! All those ships with no cargos just sitting there. What a waste.

If they're not doing anything, they should offer discount rate cruises ...

Yeah... sure... some thirty year old iron-ore freighter registered in Liberia with a Pakistani crew is going to do a cruise for tourists?
I don't think you can discount those cruise prices enough...

You just have no sense of adventure. And you pride yourself on living in such a multicultural city? I'm sure those Pakistani crew members are very nice young men that have no desperation for their existence and would never think of harming an American tourist on one of their, uh, cargo ships. "Excuse me. Mr. cruise-ship man? Do you happen to have any Grey Poupon?"

Bah! Without the incredible navigational skills of the Pakistanis, there would be no point in getting a cab in the Big Apple. I would be proud to go on a cruise with those fine folks driving me about the oceans.

In Toronto cabs these days are almost entirely Ethiopian or Somali immigrants. And you better know where you are going because they don't. ;)
