"David Kellermann, Acting Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Freddie Mac, was found dead this morning.
Fairfax County Police officials tell 9NEWS NOW they responded to his home around 5 a.m. after his wife alerted them to his apparent suicide."

With the accounting scandals and DOJ investigations regarding Freddie Mac I can't help but wonder if there isn't a connection. Kellermann was with Freddie Mac for 16-years, serving as controller and chief accounting officer prior to being appointed acting CFO. He had to be in on every accounting function employed by Freddie Mac.

Yes, I'd speculate that you are probably correct that there is probably some connection to his job. I'm sure we'll hear more about it if it is the case.
It probably isn't personal financial difficulties because Fannie and Freddie both got into the 'big bonus' game five minutes after they got their bailout money. With that kind of rank at Freddie, he probably just got a million dollar bonus last month. :ummm:

His home is valued at $900k, so I don't think money was his problem. Washington is looking for mortgage industry sacrificial lambs and he, being Freddie Mac's principal accounting officer, may have been selected for that honor?

this whole economic crisis is getting out of hand when people are committing suicide.

Anything that drives people to take their own life is ugly.
This isn't the first suicide connected to economic woes that I've read about. Just the first from the perpetrators.

Correct. I've read of a couple of recent instances where men killed their families and then themselves over financial difficulties. The perpetrators usually have so much money it's not a consideration. Prison and becoming Bubba's bitch is their only fear.
