Well it's Easter Sunday here in the Great South Land.
I've just got home from the Easter Sunday service which my wife and I attended. We are Church of England Protestants if anyone is interested.
[The Aussie holds up his hands to quieten the cheering]
All across Australia today people are having lunch with their friends and relations, as we are here in our home.
Time to get ready for their arrival.
Happy Easter members.

Even the word for Easter comes from pagan origins - Yester, the pagan Goddess associated with spring and giving birth.
I wonder if good Christians give out chocolate bunnies or have egg-hunts with painted eggs for their kids on Easter? Seems somehow sacriligious or blasphemous to do so.
I don't see the same 'sacriligiousness' of Santa Claus and presents under the tree at Christmas since that's a festival that is almost entirely made up and celebrated almost entirely on a commercial basis - unrelated to the Christian Christ-mass (just happens to be the same day). But Easter is clearly an ancient pagan religious holy-day. To indulge in games with bunnies and eggs, one is tacitly supporting the idea of a particularly non-Christian pagan religion. This seems odd for Christians to accept.
