View Full Version : There is no friendship here

I have tested the water here with a selection of posts designed to draw out the true feelings of the members. I don't like what I see.
I doubt if I am prepared to put any more effort into such a friendless environment. I watched the bitter attitude last night from that obvious left wing loser Americano and have connected this morning to see that it has carried through to others.
I do not particularly relate to the views of Canadians, your political views are too far to the left for me. Your lunatic liberalism is destroying your own country with over immigration and your views on your giant neighbor to the south consume you with envy and bitterness.
You had an orgy of Bush hate to wallow in these last eight years and at the moment you are stunned into not knowing what to moan about because a Socialist has been elected President and Bush has gone.
My observations after two days concludes that I would doubt if a Republican voter exists among any American members. I think this forum is riddled with people with the sort of Liberalist mentality that will ensure that America will not stay great. You are probably a cross section of today's society.
Your election of Obama will ensure that America and the great dream of private enterprise that made it great is replaced with Socialism and all it's evils
I am sorry my Aussie brand of humor didn't fit in here. I gave it a try.
I'll drop in later to amuse myself with what this post stirs up.

Sorry it didn't turn out for you. Take care.
And, hey, maybe someday we'll get another fine Republican in office and out nations can bomb each other into greatness again! :D

So, you joined a forum, didn't get enough "friendship" in the form of people thinking exactly as you do, and decided to go scampering off to greener, less challenging pastures?
Why would returning "amuse" you? That sort of attention/reaffirmation-seeking behavior isn't the sort of thing someone does to be entertained - it's something he does to quiet insecurities.
If you want to be amused, why not stay and defend your opinions and perspectives? At the very least, that can lead to entertaining interchanges - moreso than picking up your toys and loudly announcing that you're leaving the sand box.

You made quite a few deductions there that are way off the mark.
There's quite a bit of friendship on this site. But all of those friendships have been earned over a longer time than one or two days, which is very natural when it comes to friendship. Incidentally, these friendships are almost oblivious to political preference.
There's to my knowledge not a single Obamamaniac on board here. Most, myself included, are suspending their judgement of the Obama administration until a much longer time has elapsed than two months.
What does it matter that "your political views are too far to the left for me". Do you only want to talk with people that share the exact same ideas? Maybe it's just me but that would seem dreadfully boring to me. And as a matter of fact, lliterally everybody on this board -or most boards for that matter- is way to the right of me :D
Oh, and Americano is not left wing, and much less a loser.

I'd be quite surprised if your post here stirs up anything but mild disappointment.
And I certainly don't think that your Aussie brand of humor is any problem here at all. This is mostly a beer drinking crowd around here. ;)
You are welcome to stay or go, or come back as you please. Indeed, I second drgoodtrips' suggestion from above: "If you want to be amused, why not stay and defend your opinions and perspectives?"
That's what a good discussion forum is all about. :)

This is more like it. The abuse has started. It is what I am used to. Virtually ALL forums in Oz are filled with uncouth, foul mouthed, Bush bashing, left wing morons and I was looking further afield to see what there is.
I am wondering how I jumped to my early conclusions that you were all Manhattan Liberal pinkos. I now have to read the stuff again to see where I went wrong.

That is nice of you to say that. Maybe I judged everyone here too harshly.
If more of you give me the collective impression that you need my help here, I would reconsider about going home.
Today I won't be very available for consultation as I have to take down my collection of pictures of the Queen, Winston Churchill, George Patton and George Bush.

I will do that Michael. Thank you. You seem to be an alright guy.
Apologies to Americano. I misread his answers.
I am interested to stay and join in

I watched the bitter attitude last night from that obvious left wing loser Americano and have connected this morning to see that it has carried through to others.I make the assumption that we can discuss our feelings concerning each other freely, judging from your opening post.
I am interested to stay and join in
But you're annoying.

That's the first time on any forum anyone has labeled me left wing. As a life-long registered Republican sick of what the Bush Administration did to the US, Afghanistan and Iraq, I can only hope your ideology isn't indicative of all Aussies.

You will be interesting to talk to. As a liberal, I have to agree with the post (I already forgot who) that stated most liberals are still out with regard to Obama. I don't like the spending that is occuring either. But, this is Aussies thread and this is my 3rd post, so Aussie, I hope you stay around; I also don't think its my place yet to welcome anybody, I haven't even introduced myself.
