I'm constantly trying to remember the names of things. I do not have dementia or Alzheimer's disease, though I will likely be accused of it as I age. This thread is to facilitate the remembering of things. The internet is a wonderful tool for finding information in today's day and age but this supposes that you know the name of the thing you are looking for.

So let's start this thread off with something that floated into my head today.

I remember a while back seeing a TV show about a new type of flight propulsion that involved a 3D parabolic shaped, sliver-coloured object and a light (possibly a laser) fired rapidly at the underside of the object. The design of the object forced the light to bounce around so rapidly in the underside of this object that it warm the air beneath it enough to create lift. Anybody know what the heck I'm talking about or any advancements that have been made in this field?
