This is the place to share or post a link to funny videos or websites that are really cool, fun places to visit, or are funny themselves, or have lots of jokes or some silly games, or just about any kind of interesting website.

Please remember to read The Rules regarding the posting of links to websites before you start posting links here. No adult content please. Just good clean fun!

Text stuff and naughty words are generally okay.

If you are easily offended by tasteless or silly humor, this is not the thread to see!

Have Fun!

immanuel, n. (from im-, not, + manual, guide or rulebook) A set of instructions for doing something that kant (q.v.) be done.

I didn't know people actually believed the spider one, and that "10% of the brain" has always annoyed me. I've previously said to people that say that, "if that's the case, wouldn't being shot in the head be preferable to just about anywhere else, what with the low chance of it hitting anything vital?"

Are you kidding? I think I first heard about the "8 spiders swallowed" when I was a kid.

And I always had to wait for a hour after eating before going swimming!!!

Good point about the brain though!

That link makes me think of Penn & Teller's Bullshit which is a great show in my opinion other than when they focus on political subjects which they treat with knee jerk libertarianism.

An interesting and amusing 'scientific' approach to six common sexual myths.

http://www.cracked.com/article_16780_6-sex-myths-as-explained-by-science.html

I found it very interesting because I've always argued that it was quite logical (evolutionarily speaking) that men would tend to fall asleep immediately after sex.

I agree. I don't know why, but cats are funny. Seems that dogs used in similar type caption-photos just aren't quite as consistently or hilariously funny.

I guess it is the assumption that cats really are smart and ought to be able to talk that makes it work.

Brilliant! The seemingly random use of quotation marks used to be a pet peeve of mine. Now, I just enjoy making up little stories to explain them.

A local ice cream parlor offered a free cone back in May for all "Mothers." Mothers of cats or dogs? Motherfuckers? Mothers of Invention? Women who stole babies and claimed them as their own? A mother superior? :p

I'm atheist, my wife a Jew and we volunteer at two Christian charities feeding those in need. We've rural and I'm unaware of any local atheist charity with the nearest temple being 45-miles away complete with leadership and a congregation far too progressive for my wife's conservative taste (their idea of a cantor is a fund-raiser for Israel complete with a guitarist/singer appearance by an Israeli on tour).

After volunteering at Jewish charities for years during our prior residence in Las Vegas we're now in the land of fundamentalist Christians and semi-fallen Catholics. I wouldn't give a dime or drop of sweat to their foreign ministries as they all spend most of it on education related to pro-life dogmatic positions, including US government aid. Teaching abstinence to starving people in exchange for food greatly offends my sense of morality.

If I can't determine exactly where my charitable contribution to society is going, especially if it might contribute to large overheads supporting a belief system, I don't want any part of it.

The sound is EVERYTHING. You can just play it in the background and not look at the rainbow.

Yes, all 'animated gifs' are .gif files, but not all .gif files are animated. :)

In case you are curious, the .gif format originates with Compuserve back in the early 1980's and is an acronym for Graphic Interchange Format. It was one of the earliest 'high-resolution' image formats.

For those seriously into trivia, the .jpeg is also an acronym: Joint Photographic Experts Group - it is a famously 'lossy' compression format. Btw, the old .tiff (common with Mac-types) stands for Tagged Image File Format.

For anyone who was around computers in the 1980's and early 1990's, image formats were a serious and complex issue.

More importantly, the fucker is moving, correct?
Hence the descriptive label "animated" (aka "animooted" on Chan boards).

I've been studying this topic for the last few years.

Suffice it to say that massive multi-lane roads are the absolute worst for traffic jams.

It would appear that Moscow's roads were designed for maximum congestion.

Simple Truths:

SIMPLE TRUTH 1

Partners help each other undress before sex.

However after sex, they always dress on their own.

Moral of the story:

"In life, no one helps you once you're screwed."

SIMPLE TRUTH 2

When a lady is pregnant, all her friends touch the stomach and say "congrats".

But, none of them come and touch the man's penis and say "Good job".

Moral of the story:

"Hard work is never appreciated"

These are my new favourites for a while. These are not for the faint of heart - there is vomitting in every one of these, sometimes with close-ups of the process, sometimes just sound. It doesn't last long but it might gross some people out. The versions of history are so funny though and the actors' responses to the voice overs are hysterical.
