This is very interesting and appears to confirm my suspicions about the nature of morality being driven almost entirely by social peer pressure.

It would be nice to see more data/studies on this phenomena as I believe it could be a very useful public policy program. Blighted neighborhoods appear to not only attract existing crime/criminals, but also seem to foster/encourage it others.

Interesting article. It makes sense to me, too. You act differently in different environments. If I lose a piece of paper on a shabby street, I guess I'm less inclined to pick up compared to the same thing happening on a clean, nice street.
