A thread was started on another board I frequent about the supposed alien crash in Roswell New Mexico and I was amazed at how many people really do believe that the government covered up a crash including alien bodies. Even normally level headed posters think there is something to it beyond a top secret government cover up that just involved test flights or some other program. I was wonder what those here think. I wouldn't say it is impossible but I am highly skeptical without any evidence beyond what is presented on shows looking for ratings and in tabloids.

America... the only country in which aliens seem to land.
What a strange coincidence.

Whew. This makes me feel better. I really felt like the oddball for a little bit. I never understood how intelligent and practical people buy into things such as the idea of a Roswell conspiracy.

Actually, I've seen a few "UFO EVIDENCE" type shit (er, shows) that have stories from around the world. Evidently, the big thing in other countries are crop circles and water circles. Of course, its all bullshit made up to entertain morons, but at least now its an international embarrassment. :D

A bus with 'undocumented' Mexicans perhaps, but no LGM's. There are probabilistically speaking most likely billions of planets 'out there' that have some life on it and some of those would have some form of evolved life, but the problem is just how big 'out there' is. It's like two bacteria on opposite sides of the Sahara that would have to find each other.

Haha, true, lots of people have come out explaining that they made crop circles for fun.
Doesn't stop people from believing, though. At least we have few of those really crazy conspiracy theories like Area 51.

:)
The only interesting thing on the subject of aliens, extra terrestial vehicles, livestock violation, abduction business and what not is precisely that apparantly intelligent and practical people buy into it. That's the real issue.

Because the two bottom options are so obvious that picking one invokes the silly-feeling :)
Not that the topic isn't good, though. It's as good as any other matter that people believe in for no apparant reason.

Interesting rationale. I hope you don't vote the same way. ;)

On the surface, there appears to be more "physical evidence" for UFO's landing at Roswell then there is for Jesus or Mohammad. Just sayin'.

Interesting point. However, I suspect it has nothing to do with actual "physical evidence" but with the fact that aliens crashing into earth would necessarily be a natural world incidence. Thus, "physical evidence" of such an event is possible by mere definition.
I think that's the reason why a claim of a conspiration is called a theory while a claim of a supernatural entity is called a superstition :)
