Do you use an Oxford comma?

Oxford Comma (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_comma)

I do.

Donkey, Zarquon and dilettante use the silly American serial comma.

Michael never does. ;)

Yeah, I never use this additional comma. I also reserve the "z" for rare occasions and pronounce it as "zed", e.g.,

Realise
Realisation

Personalise
Personalisation

As I have noted previously, I generally follow US style when I post at this forum (specifically). As a general rule, I don't follow US style and prefer the British style in the majority of my writing.

In other words, I will spell "realize" here at DWF and spell "realise" in a private email to you.

Indeed, that "oxford comma" seems like an odd name for a US style custom that isn't usually followed in British English.

Speaking of which, it is interesting to see which version of English is more common in the world (outside of native tongue English speaking countries). It does seem as if the Europeans and the Indians follow British rules.

Never. It's an abomination.

I guess I do use it, as it is demonstrated in the article. But I didn't realize / realise that I did, and I certainly didn't know what it was called.

Seriously, D, what particular chain of events brought this to the fore of your little brain?????
