New details of the ugly fight between Mel Gibson and his baby-mama Oksana Grigorieva have emerged with claims of a murder suicide plot! Read more on the latest in the Mel Gibson drama below.

Oksana Grigorieva told police (http://stupidcelebrities.net/2010/07/08/mel-gibson-being-investigated-for-domestic-violence/) that Mel punched her in the head twice and choked her with his forearm on the throat as she fell to the bed with baby Lucia. Gibson then allegedly put his hand over her mouth and kept choking her. Oksana’s son with Timothy Dalton, Sascha, 12, was in the bedroom during the incident.
Oksana struggled to get away and claims Mel pulled out his gun and threatened to kill her, Sascha, baby Lucia, and himself. Grigorieva managed to get away and ran out of the house with the children.
In one of the recorded tapes Oksana spoke about Mel hitting Lucia (http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2010/07/exclusive-audio-tape-could-destroy-mel-no-one-will-believe-you-he-says-after-she):
“You hit me, and you hit her while she was in my hands! Mel, you’re losing your mind. You need medication,” Oksana said to Mel in the audio recording.
“You need a f*cking kick up the a** for being a b*tch, c*nt, gold digging whore! With a p*ssy son! And I want my child, and no one will believe you! So f*ck you!” Mel is heard screaming at her.
Mel also threatened Oksana that he will get custody of their daughter Lucia saying, “You have my child and she doesn’t need a gold digging, f*cking Russian c*nt, wh*re for a mother! We all know what you are! I will have that child, easily.
Oksana replies, “I’m sorry? You will not have this child.”
Mel answers: “They won’t let you keep her because they’ll know what you are!”
A report states that Lucia was photographed with a bruise on her chin after the incident.
Child services interviewed Oksana’s son Sascha on Friday.
In May Oksana signed but then backed out of a settlement of $15 million that would have kept the secret tapes quiet.

This Gibson better stay away from here, from Russia now. She should leave him, take the girl, and come back. If he tries to come here after her, all she has to do is stand on the street and yell, in Russian, that some pindos (not nice word for American) bastard is trying to hurt her and her kids. Local men would kill him in three seconds.

For someone with his resources, I think he's dumb. An actor with an ego so large he thought he could drive anywhere, even in Los Angeles, California (USA) drunk on his ass and get away with it. Why doesn't he have people who would have not allowed him to have conversations bordering on physical threats that were recorded? His immense ego. The lawyers will earn windfall income in financially settling his latest escapade.

He will probably lose a lot here. Not just money. But career too. I heard nobody wants anything to do with him anymore. Noone will sponsor his movies or anything.

You're right. I read recently that even his agents dropped him. When an agent drops an A-list actor, that means their career is becoming a loss rather than a gain. He ended his career with the anti-semitic tirade follow his DUI, but this bout has destroyed even the embers of his once bright career.

I thought about mentioning this situation before. I'm curious about everyone's thoughts regarding Gibson's rants and current popular Australian politics. Would he be so ostracized in the land of ultra-conservatives?

Jew-bashing is quite unacceptable amongst the elites of USA (since Jews are a big part of the elite class).

Especially in the US movie industry which was founded and expanded by mostly Jews.

An interesting question. Though my experience is dated, most of the Australian males I associated with were hardcore male chauvinists. I doubt they would blame Gibson for his actions.

I honestly don't know much about the political culture in Australia. Certainly they have a bit of a 'rough' reputation historically speaking for xenophobia, racism and machismo (as does the USA - part of that 'frontier-thing'), but I'm out of touch on the contemporary Aussie scene.

I'd imagine that Gibson is making himself as unpopular there as he is doing everywhere else. Some might be able to 'overlook' the occasional drunken racist/religious rantings from time to time, but I would think that blatant domestic violence is a guarenteed path to social ostracism and a career killer for an 'entertainer'.

Well, Australia has the second highest HDI (http://hdr.undp.org/en/media/HDR_2009_EN_Complete.pdf) ranking, and they are also some of the least religious people (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_Australia#No_religion) in the world; things negatively co-related with "ultra-conservatism", xenophobia and racism (there are exceptions like the petro-dollar states who have a high HDI). Also, they have a labor party in office, and a female atheist (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julia_Gillard) as PM.
Granted, it has quite a racist past, but so does the US, and they have progressed since then.
There are probably pockets of racism here and there, and a strong anti-Muslim sentiment in rural areas, but no more than that in Europe, and I bet the racism is lower than that of the US.
