Apparently rumors are swirling that the engagement of Prince William and Kate Middleton will be announced the first week in June.
Apparently rumors are also asserting that this is not so.
Either way, it does seem that a wedding between these two is only a matter of time.

I give a fuck.
According to my calculations, they are the next King and Queen. That's significant. Obviously you are not familiar with my 'golden cage' argument. As a democrat, I think it is brilliant to keep a king in a gilded cage.
And their wedding is likely to be the social event of the decade.

It's a relic that happens to have all the tradition and ceremonial elements of the British government flow through. That's pretty important.

Wot? No informational background on the young miss Middleton? Michael, I expect references to her "breeding" and significant members in her familial past in your next post on this thread. Middleton sounds like such a plain name. There must be some dignitaries on the mother's side.
As for royalty, they are a thing of the past in terms of their rule. They probably know this better than anyone else. However, young Willy has the potential to surpass his mother in humanitarian efforts using his fame alone. Perhaps the two shall singlehandedly rid the Saxe-Coburg-Gothas of their prognathic jowly look!

Actually, no. Kate Middleton, as her name suggests, is of rather middling breeding, with shades of the working class a mere generation or two in the past.
Admittedly, Kate's daddy is a self-made millionaire businessman, but that's as illustrious as this family gets.
William, thanks to his MOTHER has impeccable breeding credentials, enough to make up for that unfortunate Sax-Coburg-Gotha bloodline. For the first time in many centuries, the heir to the throne can trace ancestry back to William the Conqueror (through the Spencer line). And yes, I completely ignore that idiot Charles fellow - I figure he has only one thing to give to his country and that's a quick abdication after his mother dies. I think Charles loves his country enough to do it - he owes it to them after the Diana debacle and marrying Mrs. Horsey.

Yes, Diana's Spencer-blood and fine looks have improved that family's breeding immeasurably.
And yes, everything I've read about William says that he's a clone of his mother in every respect.

Thank heavens for Lady Diana. Had it not been for her, the Royal Family would have taken on more equine features with each generation. At some point, they all would have just been turned out to pasture.
