Here is a good article that discusses current archeological and anthropological thinking about the ancient mystery of Nazca. While they claim to have 'solved' the mystery, I think this is a bit misleading. Rather, the have a new theory that seems to offer a good explanation for their origins.

I read that article when my magazine came, but I also remember reading about the water theory years ago. It made more sense than any alien theories that were being tossed about. These geoglyphs have always fascinated me. They are something I'd really like to see one day.

Yes, it would be truly 'exotic' to fly over them in a small airplane (like the OP photo) or better yet - in a hot-air balloon! :)
Though, as the article describes, the really interesting experience would be to walk through one of them.
Alas, this planet is way too big and life is way too short!
(and I well remember reading all the alien-spaceship conspiracy stories to explain these things back in my teenage years!) :lol:
