The idiots blocking progress on saving the planet. Check out the new issue of Rolling Stone. The 17 worst offenders are profiled.

Warren Buffett as number#1?
Really? That suggests to me that the list was created with 'sensationalism' as the goal, not accuracy.
That's fitting because I've never heard a kind word spoken for that magazine's pretensions for journalism. Vanity Fair it is not.

I've never heard of them being so "involved." Definitely interesting and hopefully productive. Whether their ranking is accurate or not, it should still help educate some folks about the corporate involvement in the lack of action on global warming.

I didn't look at it as an actual ranking. It seems to be just the 17 biggest idiots denying and blocking progress, in no particular order to me.
It's good to have them outted. IMHO.

Even though I no longer follow Rolling Stone Magazine, I have a fierce loyalty for Jann Wenner's support of Hunter Thompson.

Now we have a topic to argue about - I think Hunter S. Thompson was an egotistic idiot. :D

I thought he was a great performance.

Yes, most performer/entertainers are indeed, egotistical idiots. ;)
I'll agree that as an entertainer, Hunter Thompson was excellent.
It is as a journalist that I have only contempt for him. He represents everything that has gone wrong with journalism in America. He's the poster boy for that (i.e. putting himself into the story he's covering - making the story all about himself, rather than the story being reported, etc.)
Christopher Hitchens plays the same game without the entertainment factor.

That's the definition of gonzo journalism, subjective artistic endeavors.

From what I've read of RSM, they can make some damn good points. Unapologetically progressive, but not interested in sucking off the Democratic Party.

Sure, but no one takes them seriously. Even still, raising consciousness is good and Rolling Stone has pretty good circulation to lots of non-political types.
As I noted above, Vanity Fair is the one 'non-news' magazine that does do excellent journalism on political topics (oddly enough).

The righties took them seriously when, a couple issues ago, they did an article on Obama's terrible economic advisors......

A better source for who the players are in the deliberate misinformation campaign surrounding global warming is here:

There is a good review of it here.

The righties have a long history of trumping up anything they like and ignoring anything they don't like.
There is no rhyme or reason there other than pure partisanship.

Indeed. Clearly the largest misinformation campaign in history. Truly impressive to witness.
