This is very interesting (inadvertent) admission from the rightwing teaparty set.

Tea Party Nation Would Like to Announce the Following Efforts and Status of the Nationwide TEA Party Convention

First, we are pleased to announce that the convention has sold out and we now have a waiting list which we will continue to try to clear as opportunity presents.

In this light, we have had numerous requests for press passes and the resulting expected coverage. However, as we have set expectations that this is a working convention, we have tried not to make it a media event.

In fact, Tea Party Nation has received hundreds of requests for press credentials to cover this convention. Everyone from a small town newspaper in Iowa to Fox News has asked for press credentials. We have had requests from Canada, England, France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Norway, Croatia and Japan. We have been hard pressed to accommodate all of these requests and do not have the space or resources to support the entirety of the press corp. Indeed, we have asked the hotel if they would be willing to provide a press room during the convention.

However, given these practical limitations, we have approved the following press organizations:

Fox News

Breitbart.com

Townhall.com

The Wall Street Journal

World Net Daily

The teaparty people here were seeking to exclude the media from their event, but are granting exceptions to these particular media organizations that they feel are 'on their side'.

This sure looks lke Fox News and WSJ are to be considered "teaparty-approved" media outlets.

If that isn't proof that Fox and WSJ are rightwing propaganda machines, I don't know what is. The teaparty people consider them to be thus.

Indeed, for Fox and WSJ to be listed there with WorldNetDaily is just priceless. How WSJ can swallow that insult is beyond me, but I suppose that's just part and parcel of being a water-carrier for rightwing partisans. :D

The other night I had to describe to my 51 year old father what "teabagging" is. Heehee.

They remind me of some libertarian ideology as I'm always wondering how they're going to pay the bills in our complex society.

Well he knows who the Teaparty hooligans are, I was just explaining why the term teabagging was funny.

So... yes. :D

Teehee.

Awesome.

A few weeks ago I had to explain to a resident, who was watching Brokeback Mountain, what it was about. Not as good as your story, but awkward nonetheless.

To put this admission into context, it would be as if the Netroots Convention only allowed the NYTimes and/or only MSNBC to cover their event and banned all other media.

That would cause a shitstorm and be taken as definitive proof that the NY Times and/or MSNBC were totally in the tank for the left.

Of course, the Netroots Conventions are open to all credential media, but the Teabaggers have clearly marked out who they consider to be 'their own kind' here.

Well, FOX News started the teabagging movement. That was Glenn Beck who first started pushing for it and it was all they covered for several weeks.

The Daily Show covered the beginning (http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/thu-april-16-2009/nationwide-tax-protests) pretty well. By the way, that is my primary news source. Jon Stewart's interviews are fantastic and they really bust popular media for being a laughing matter.

Maybe Murdock sees Internet subscription growth from birthers? Fox is understandable. It's pure partisanship media.
